Great Jumpin Dolphins by Trish Scott

Back when I was first looking for a ‘pet psychic’ I found Penelope Smith’s web site and her Dolphin Adventure jumped out at me. I ‘knew’ I had to go. I signed up just after taking my first animal communication class. It was the perfect ending to this whole experience. Here is the letter to friends and clients upon my arrival home.

Hi Everyone,

As most of you know I recently went swimming with wild dolphins in the Bahamas to learn whatever it is we learn by doing that. These are a few of my experiences.

I started my great adventure with what God issued me and the clothes I stood up in. Lost Luggage. After months of shopping for just the right stuff (in Eureka it is cold — we don’t swim, wear shorts, sandals, sun hats, sunscreen, or go snorkeling) it was a non issue. But while others wrestled their luggage into the shuttle to the dock I enjoyed the morning light. While others wrestled their luggage onto the boat I watched the sun sparkle on the water. Once others had wrestled their luggage under the bunks in their rooms they started bringing me things. I was presented with the choice of one of two swimsuits which were identical to the two swimsuits I had in my luggage. I took the purple, it was my favorite all along. There were t-shirts, shorts and towels from the boats lost and found and others from my fellow travelers. When I mentioned to my roommate that I was going to miss my Teva’s she gave me hers saying she hadn’t been sure why she had brought them. Same with a dive skin. She had once lost her luggage and was very generous as people had been with her. The crew provided me with snorkeling gear. Within a half hour of being on the boat all my needs had been met. Later in the week when everyone had nothing but wet, rank towels and soggy clothes the crew did my laundry for me since they knew I didn’t have much stuff. Fresh towels! What a gift. I shared with my roommate. At the end of the week I slept like a baby while others packed their soggy stuff into suitcases that seemed too small. And in the morning while others lugged their stuff to the back deck for a customs check I enjoyed a leisurely breakfast. When we arrived back at the hotel my luggage was there. Pristine. I had a glorious shower and pampered myself with all my own toiletries and put on my own clean clothes and felt like a million bucks. And when I got home there was no laundry to do. It’s a great way to travel. Beyond that it’s a lesson to me in accepting help, asking for what I need and finding abundance rather than scarcity.

Now when you take a trip with twenty-eight animal communicators you tend to expect a bit of weirdness and just decide to go with the flow. We had our first meeting at the hotel the night before boarding. Penelope Smith, the facilitator for the trip, had green hair and was a bit more peculiar than I had expected. There were a few kids, two hetero couples, one lesbian couple, and a mix of mostly women of all ages. After introductions Hodin, Penelope’s assistant, and Penelope started a chant — he was on drums and she chanting something resembling a Native American chant. I don’t recall the lead in to this except that I had always thought of that stuff as silly and was prepared to just endure it politely. About three beats into it I was bawling my eyes out. Somehow I had found my way home.

Once we were onboard we all discovered that we just loved our roommates. When you are with a bunch of people there are always those you hit it off with right away and those who make you grind your teeth. We all ended up with the former. After a couple of days of watching roommates interact I asked Penelope how she had made the room assignments. She printed out all of our applications (most by email — we hadn’t even touched these printouts) and matched them by the energy she got from them. That’s it. Simple.

The first few days we had bad weather so the dolphin encounters were few and far between but I was able to learn to cope with snorkeling. Plenty of time to practice. I went from gulping and sputtering salt water to being fairly proficient at diving. I had some help. Just a few weeks before leaving, my daughter in law Wonder lost her father. Gary was someone I felt close to the moment we met. He was an artist and sculptor. When he found he had kidney problems that would lead to his death he moved to Hawaii for a year to spend time doing luscious things like snorkeling. A few years ago he gave me a small feather he had carved from an antler. I knew he would love this trip so I put his feather on a chain and wore it on this trip. Strangely enough Scott Hanson, a renowned sculptor who makes his home in Hawaii and is a world-class free diver just happened to be on the trip. We hit it off right away. He taught me how to dive.

While we were waiting for the dolphins to find us interesting enough to spend time with we snorkeled here and there. No I didn’t get any mysterious vibes from the road to Bimini but I met a lot of fish I had never seen outside reef tanks and aquariums. The water is warm and very clear and the fish are glorious. God it was good.

There is so much to tell. Like the love that grew throughout our little community as the week went on, the bliss I felt “dancing” with a disabled girl to live Calypso music at the Complete Angler, the perfect moments of being belly to belly with a dolphin, the joy watching dolphins and humans playing together, the wonder of living in a community of healers each of us giving what we had to give and receiving what we needed spontaneously, easily. We became the flow. Now I know exactly what it is that I want to create here at home.

On our last day the dolphins came out to play for about 2 hours straight. Then there was THE MOST SPECTACULAR SUNSET I have ever seen. Then there was lightning periodically lighting up the clear night. The wonders just went on and on that day. It was the perfect end to a perfect adventure.

And somehow a lot of us came back with a streak or two of green in our hair.

Anna Twinney - Reach Out to Horses

I am constantly in awe of so many things but in this case I refer to what I think most lay people would call coincidence. Maybe it is an entirely random thing but I prefer to think of it that, we all exist on the same vibrational plane, each resonating a different variable tone but frequently coming into tune with other people, places and events as we reach a happy, mutual empathy.

Let me explain…….
As most visitors to this blog will be aware, I am fortunate to publish some of Penelope Smith’s catalogue and as a result I have developed a deeper interest in Animal Communication. While I was preparing some sales material for her I decided to contact some of the communicators listed in her magazine, Species Link, and ask for testimonials and accounts of their experiences with Penelope.
Everybody was very kind and generous with their responses but one in particular, from Anna Twinney, demanded my attention. Anna who runs the Reach out to Horses training programme from her home in Golden, Colorado is an internationally respected horsewoman, clinician, coach, certified animal communicator & healer who has conducted clinics, classes and training sessions in Australia, Canada, Denmark, England, Germany, Holland, Spain and through-out the United States. One other thing however that grabbed my attention was that, like me, Anna is English and it had intrigued her from my business letter head to notice that we both hail from the same area. More than that, we discovered that my office was only three miles from her parent’s home in England’s oldest and smallest county of Rutland. The result of this ‘accidental’ exchange of email was that in May, in a bistro restaurant in Uppingham market square, we shared a delightful lunch and much happy conversation. Was it coincidence, the ‘flying fickle finger of fate’ or an empathetic cosmic vibration that brought about the first of, what I hope will be many, such meetings? I don’t know for sure but I do know that I have a special new friend.

A Message for a Veterinarian client from a racehorse by Lynn Mckenzie

“Do not pine for my physical presence for I am with you each and every day. Your flow with me was magic, this allowed for the expansion of ‘all that is’, our love and joy. When your heart feels full, you will sense my presence. It is this sensing that will help you with the others, those who run, and those who fall. While there is pain on the physical realm, there is but pure joy on this realm. Our connection allowed for you, glimpses of this, on your plane.

What you saw in me was just a reflection of yourself, for you are but a vast being of pure love and joy, with a heart as big and open as any on your plane. Nurture this heart for you are in an ever expanding mode, on your way to realms unimaginable to you at this time. Allow this blossoming as you would a rose, for this will heal, both yourself and others. The divine beings in equine vessels require this of you right now.

My special friend, I am honoured to be your partner. We will continue to ride together through the dimensions of space and time as we are now one.”

Sumatran rhino songs related to whales.

National News - February 23, 2007

Novan Iman Santosa, The Jakarta Post, Jakarta

The homecoming of 5-year-old Sumatran rhinoceros Andalas from the U.S. brings to light the fact that, like whales, Sumatran rhinos can “sing”.
Elizabeth von Muggenthaler, president of the Hillsborough, North Carolina-based Fauna Communications Research Institute, told The Jakarta Post on Thursday that publicizing the fact that Sumatran rhinos also sing may contribute to efforts to protect this endangered species.

“The way rhinos and whales sing is very similar, nearly identical,” she said by phone from Hillsborough.
“This shows that whales and rhinos might be closely related. It could be said that rhinos are whales on land.”

The bioacoustics expert said she had been working with Andalas, born in the Cincinnati Zoo in 2001, since the calf was 6-months-old until he was moved to Los Angeles Zoo. Von Muggenthaler has been working on rhino vocalization since 1992.
Out of four rhino species, only Sumatran rhinos can sing. “The Indian, African black and white rhinos do not sing. We do not know anything about Javan rhinos because none are in captivity,” she said.
When asked why only Sumatran rhinos sing, von Muggenthaler offered the suggestion that genetically Sumatran rhinos are the oldest of the species.
Three Sumatran rhinos, one male and two female, were recorded “singing” at the Cincinnati Zoo for a total of six hours in March, 2001.
According to a paper co-authored by von Muggenthaler, rhinos are exceptionally vocal, even producing sounds when they are eating. Results indicate that there are three main types of vocalizations, strung together to form a constant “song”. The three calls are described as eeps, whistle blows and whales. The whale call is named so because it sounds similar to the song of the humpback whale.
The paper was published by the Acoustical Society of America at the American Institute of Physics and can also be found online at www.animalvoice.com.

Von Muggenthaler hoped once the fact that Sumatran rhinos were able to sing was widely known, people would start protecting the species. Rhinos are poached for the powder in their horns.
Andalas arrived here Monday and was immediately transferred to the 100-hectare Way Kambas rhino sanctuary in Lampung.

“I support Andalas’ repatriation to the sanctuary as it provides a genuine breeding population.
“But people need also to understand that this creature is singing the songs of the forest,” Von Muggenthaler said.

A spokesman at the Forestry Ministry, Masyhud, said he was unaware of the ability of Sumatran rhinos to sing.

“I haven’t heard any rhinos ’singing’. But nevertheless, we will carry out our conservation plans for all rhinos, whether they can sing or not.”

Animal Healers by Nedda Wittels

In recent years there have been many stories about animals who heal people:

  • horses who cause people’s physical problems
to resolve and who help handicapped riders develop
    balance, strength, and confidence;

  • horses who teach people about their emotional issues;

  • dogs who “smell” when someone has cancer, even
    before doctors can find it;

  • dogs who can tell when a person is going to have
    a seizure;

  • dolphins who heal people who swim with them;

  • cat and dog “therapists” visit hospitals and nursing homes and actually improve people’s health.

To me, none of this is surprising.

During an Animal Communication workshop, one participant shared a story about her cat’s healing abilities. For over 6 months, the woman had suffered with a very sore spot in her back. She had tried chiropractic and massage, but got no relief from the pain. One day she came home from work exhausted and lay face down on her bed to rest. Her cat climbed up on her back and went directly to the spot that was painful. Kneading its paws for several minutes directly on that spot permanently eliminated the woman’s pain.
A chiropractor I know brings his dog to work, and the dog greets people as they come in for treatments. The dog likes to help heal the clients. While she doesn’t enter the treatment room or participate in adjusting people’s spines, she assists, the dog says, by helping people clear stress and negative emotions that might contribute to the out-of-balance condition of their bodies. The dog is empathic (i.e., she feels people’s emotions) and sends energy to clear emotional blockages.
In my consultations, many animals say that their purpose is to be a healer for their families. They may be doing “paws-on-healing” or be using their entire bodies to send life force energy. Some of them also work with the energies of our homes to clear lower vibrations or remove stagnant energy.
I once gave a talk where there were two other speakers, one of whom had brought her Pet Therapy dog, a Golden Retriever with hip problems so severe she had to ride in a little red wagon to prevent her from slipping and sliding on the linoleum floors. Before we started the program, I asked the dog if she wanted to participate in my talk, and she eagerly agreed. About 15 minutes after I began speaking, the dog got up and stood facing me staring into my eyes. Everyone wanted to know what she was saying.
“She’s reminding me that I promised to interview her as part of my presentation,” I told the group. So I asked the her to explain how she did her healing work. Immediately, she began radiating Unconditional Love. It was so palpable that everyone sitting the circle could feel it. Everyone could feel it and it brought tears to our eyes.
Many animals tell me that they can see auras, the energy field that surrounds our physical bodies. They say they can also feel or even smell them. Our physical body is actually an energy body itself, the densest layer of the aura. Human healers who see auras say that illness is visible in the auric field before it manifests in the physical layer. Since auras can now be photographed, they are no longer considered imaginary or mystical.
While some humans don’t see auras, we all respond to them unconsciously, i.e., we just “know” that one place or person “feels good” or another “feels bad”. If you watch your animal’s reactions closely, you may notice that they are very aware of these “vibes”. This will help you tune into your animals in a more conscious way.
In 2003, I badly broke an ankle, had 3 hours of surgery to pin it back together, and then stayed 10 days with one of my sisters. When I finally returned to my house, my two cats were overjoyed. However, they wanted to lie directly on my ankle. This was uncomfortable for me, since they together weighed over 20 pounds. Clients of mine who have had surgery also report that their cats want to lie directly over the area. Feline purrs are very healing. While not all cats work directly with light energy, the rumble of their purr helps restore damaged cells to a healthy vibration. The challenge is persuading them to lie next to the injury and not right on top of it!

Telepathic Communication Between Two People

How do two people become so connected that they are able to communicate without being in contact physically, speak to each other through telepathy and even feel the same pains?

The ability to send to and receive from each other thoughts and feelings comes from a spiritual connection between the two of you. When two people are spiritually close to each other, they are often able to sense what the other is feeling or thinking.

Telepathic communication consists of two directions, sending and receiving.

It depends on intention. Whether you have the intent to sense what the other person is thinking and feeling, or for the other person to pick up certain thoughts and feelings you are sending. It will be harder for others to sense your thoughts if you want to hide yourself from them. You psychically put up a shield to prevent them from seeing your intentions. The same is also true when others do that.

It takes someone of a stronger mind and greater clarity of thinking to penetrate the psychic shields of others to see what they are thinking.

When two people are spiritually close, they trust each other and they have mutual empathy. Empathy is one of the key ingredients of telepathy.

Telepathy which is of the psychic level of the mind tends to operate beyond pure words and linguistics. It takes place in the form of feelings, images and desires. You may be able to receive telepathic communication from another person in the form of pure words. But usually it comes through a feeling, image or desire.

Depending on whether the telepathic message is verbal or nonverbal as well as your dominant mental modality, you might receive the message by instantly knowing it (Paracognition), hearing it from an inner voice in your mind (clairaudience), visualize it (clairvoyance) or feeling it (clairsentience).

In non-local telepathy which is psychic communication out of sight, you might sense an emotion that another person is feeling at that time, or you might think of an image that is related to what that person is experiencing, or you could sense what that person is intending to do. All these happens without you being able to read the body language of the person.

That psychic message that you get doesn’t seem to be just a thought that you conjure up in your mind out of pure imagination but it comes with the feeling of clarity and inner certainty which is exactly what intuition is made up of.

All things at the psychic level operates through the power of belief. In order to send or receive telepathy, you first need to have the belief that you can send and receive telepathy, and that it is going to happen.

The methods of telepathy are induction, visualization and will.

First induce the emotion, image or desire that you are sending within yourself first. Allow yourself to be experiencing it at that moment.

Secondly, visualize your emotion, image or desire traveling to that person and he/she picking it up and experiencing it too.

Thirdly, will it to happen and be certain that it has happened the way you intend it to be.

Take note that telepathy never fails. The outcome always follows the laws that influence it which are the beliefs and attitudes of both parties and the spiritual connection between them. What we call failure is merely feedback about what we are doing.

When a message does not seem to get through or it seems distorted, it is simply because of opposing intentions, beliefs, lack of mutual trust. It could even be your own interpretation of the emotions, images and desires that you receive that prevents you from seeing what really is.

Being authentic is one of the keys to sending and receiving clear telepathic messages. The virtue of honesty and truth is a spiritual law of reality.

When you have a good telepathic connection with someone, you can read each others thoughts easily. So sometimes you do not want the other to know something, such as the correct answer to a question. You can use techniques of counter-telepathy.

You can put up a psychic shield by visualizing it and willing that the person can’t read your mind. Or if you want to, you could mislead the person by focusing on an opposite thought or the wrong answer instead. He/she would usually pick up the misleading thought and be mislead.

This misleading thought effect also explains why it is so important to watch our thoughts. Sometimes we think certain negative thoughts towards a person when we are momentarily angry or upset. The person may pick these thoughts up and think that is what we really think about him/her when it isn’t our true thoughts.

It is alright to think those thoughts for awhile but we must not forget to revert to sending our truer positive thoughts of peace, harmony and well being in between or afterwards, and to send them with equal or greater intensity. Especially to someone we truly love.

Finally, it is also about love. When you really love someone, Universal Mind or God will tell you things about that person, because God is love and love connects you to that person spiritually. That person can also sense certain emotions, images and desires from you through the universal mind.

Telepathic connection works best when we don’t try to force it. When we know it works, it works. But when we think it might work, it doesn’t work. It is driven more by our subconscious beliefs than by conscious effort. The more we try to force it, the worse we do.

The things you tend to send telepathically are the things that you focus on most often. If you focus more often on positive things, you will send positive emotions, images and desires. If you focus more often on negative things, you will send negative emotions, images and desires.

You Can Hear What I Hear: The Simple Truth of Animal Communication

It’s a rare day off of work for you. You are relaxing at home, thinking that pizza would be great for lunch. Suddenly, your dog starts doing the “daddy’s coming home” dance. You find this odd because, Spot reserves this dance for 4:30 in the afternoon, about a ½ hour before your sweetie arrives home from work. Thirty minutes later, your sweetie is at the door, pizza in hand, having decided to come home early to have lunch with you. How did Spot know that daddy was coming home and better still how did your sweetheart know you wanted pizza?

This scenario is a wonderful example of telepathy, simply defined as mind to mind communication. Both humans and animals are able to telepathically relay thoughts, emotions, wants, and needs on an energetic level. Animals are very aware of their telepathic abilities and use them to communicate as a matter of course, actively and intentionally sending and receiving telepathic messages. Spot was paying attention to what daddy was thinking and feeling, and knew when he made the decision to come home early. Even though we humans are usually less aware of our telepathic abilities, we use them every day, all day. We intuitively send and receive these messages and often act on them without even knowing it. It’s how we are aware of who is on the line when the phone rings, how we can tell when someone is in a bad mood before they speak a word, or when we should bring pizza home for lunch.

Animal communicators are people who have turned this unconscious practice into a consciously active process. We have learned to tune in, receive, translate and vocalize what our pets are sending to us. We are the interpreters, using more than just our five traditional senses to hear, sense, feel what animals are attempting to tell us. We have cultivated our natural clairsentience, our “sixth sense”, in order to use it as an effective communicative tool.

Communicating with animals is a skill that simply comes easier to some people than others. It is not a special gift possessed only by a few. Anyone can pick up a clarinet and blow a few notes because the physical capability is there. With practice and a little guidance, one can become proficient and possibly even extraordinary. Developing your telepathic skills works much the same way.

By listening to our animals, we are giving them the opportunity to express their concerns, likes, dislikes and their reasons for doing the things they do. Many less than desirable behaviors that our pets exhibit are often an expression of their frustration created by not being able to get their message across. Affording them the opportunity to express themselves in a more constructive way will reduce this stress, helping to create an environment where pet and owner can work more effectively together. Communicating with your animal will not solve all behavioral problems but it is a great place to start!

When we to listen to our animals, we develop a stronger bond with them. Our relationships become more of a give and take, creating a mutual respect and a deeper trust. One of the greatest gifts we can give is the gift of listening. Honor your pets by listening to them.

“Lots of people talk to animals. Not very many listen, though. That’s the problem.” ~Benjamin Hoff, The Tao of Pooh

Animal Communication: Art and Science to Help Pets and Their People

As a respected art and science, animal communication has been around for perhaps 100 years, although most people may have heard of it only recently. An understanding of animal communication–interspecies communication between humans and their pets or other animals–must begin with the understanding that animals, like humans, have personalities and feelings, preferences, opinions, and misperceptions; they think and make choices; they, like us, want to be happy.

What does an animal communicator do? Think of an animal communicator (who will be a “she” here, for simplicity’s sake) as a facilitator or mediator between the human and the animal. She has an intelligent conversation with this sentient being who cannot communicate through human speech–but can communicate nevertheless.

She may be called upon to assist with a variety of situations, including behavioral problems; relationships with people and other pets; stressful situations such as a move, the family going on vacation, or the death of a human companion; or, often, when a pet is lost and her skills are needed to locate it. In this case, if the pet has died, the animal communicator will be able to determine this, too.

Animal communication can occur in person, over the phone, or through e-mail; each animal communicator will have her preferred method, although other variables, such as distance from the client, may factor in. She will need the name, age, species, breed, and description; she may ask for a picture of the animal. Some animal communicators prefer to work with the pet alone, or the human client may play an active part in the communication. The animal communicates through the communicator and back to the human client in pictures, emotions, and words.

Does it work? If you need convincing, I suggest you check out the websites of any number of animal communicators and read the stories and testimonials yourself.

However, says animal communicator Rev. Nedda Wittels, M.A., M.S., on naturalhealthweb.com, “Unfortunately, no telepathic communicator–no person–is one hundred percent accurate all the time in any work. Error can occur because the telepathic connection is weak; because the human client has emotional and/or mental blocks about the situation; because the animal is lying or choosing not to communicate fully; because the meaning of the communication does not fit easily into the backdrop of information available to the human communicator; or because the telepath simply misconstrues the meaning.

Each telepathic communicator brings her own emotional and mental baggage to any session: belief systems, expectations, past experiences and emotions. Being able to drop this baggage and to be a clear channel is an important part of the process of doing the work. The best among us do this on a regular basis, but all telepaths, as all other psychics, do filter the information somewhat through their own perspectives on reality. It is part of being human.”

For example, I heard of one case where a communicator was called upon to find a lost dog. As it turned out, the dog had been killed, but he was reluctant to reveal where he was because he’d run away and gotten into trouble, resulting in his death, and knew he’d been “naughty.”

If you decide to get in touch with an animal communicator, it’s easy to find one; simply do an Internet search for “animal communicator.” You may choose one over another based upon any number of individual preferences, although distance need not be a factor; as I mentioned, most can work long-distance. Of course, an animal communicator does not substitute for veterinary care or obedience training. Have a list of question ready that you’d like to ask; if she charges by the hour, you can be sure to get your most important questions answered within your time frame.

Would you like to become an animal communicator? Anyone with a gift for relating to animals and good listening skills might choose to nurture them and become a certified animal communicator. Begin by searching for workshops and correspondence courses. Then set up your own website and tell us your success stories!
